15 THINGS YOU MIGHT SEE IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST

The beauty of the Pacific North West is undeniable and the diversity of landscapes and wildlife in the Puget Sound area are everything a photographer could ever want as a subject matter. Even evergreens hold a certain charm in the eyes of a seasoned picture taker. Here are 15 things you might see in the Pacific Northwest…

1   In the summertime when the weather is hot you just might catch these motorized surfers gliding across the water off of West Seattle. An ND04 helped with the glare on this super sunny day on the Sound.

2   A Chinook flying overhead during training exercises near Joint Base Lewis-McChord. They’re probably training sling load inspectors.

3   Here’s a very forward Song Sparrow posing for me during a stroll in Coleman Park North on Lake Washington. In fact we hit it off so well we went out for a beer afterwards.

4   The Cherry Blossoms on Lake Washington Blvd in the spring are irrepressibly beautiful with the big blue sky as their backdrop. There’s a lot of them out here making this a veritable feast for the eyes.

5   A young female Mallard Duck just wandering along at the Chateau st Michelle grounds.

6   a perfectly lazy day at Chateau st Michelle. Architectural detail highlighted.

7   A majestic Cypress evergreen. This guy is around 40 years old and 30 feet tall!

8   Highway I-90 over Lake Washington heading into Bellevue.

9   Lake Washington Blvd in Coleman Park North in Seattle in the summer. The in place to relax and take in the scenery.

10   One of the many types of bird of prey that populate the Pacific Northwest. I shot this one at Chambers Bay GC as it was darting in and around the extra large sand traps. Not sure this is an Osprey but there are plenty of those to go around in these parts. There’s actually an Osprey nest nearby.

11   Chambers Bay GC, Hole 17. Burlington Northern going by daily and today with a couple of boats in the water and McNeil Island in the background.

12   Another bird of prey at Chambers Bay GC playing a little game of peek-a-boo with me.

13   A fence at sunset! Pioneer Park in Steilacoom, WA. offers some of the most spectacular views in the south Sound. The sunsets here are beyond description, come on by and just enjoy.

14   You may or may not see this guy running around clicking away at anything that’ll stand still long enough to get shot. But if you do make sure to say hi.

15   Mt Ranier. 14,410 feet tall with 370 square miles of park land. You could spend a lifetime exploring it and it wouldn’t be an awful way to make a living at any rate.

That concludes 15 THINGS YOU MIGHT SEE IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. There surely are some magnificent sites to see from the Pacific Coastline to the eastern deserts and the mountain ranges in between. Get out there and enjoy what the Lord has provided for each and every one of us to possess and benefit from. Cheers!
